Fiscal sustainability of the health system is frequently debated in policy circles and the media. It is a term that refers to the ability of governments and others to finance health care given the growing cost pressures and limited resources.

In this report, Figure 3 shows four broad ways to promote greater sustainability of health spending including those operating on (i) the supply-side (ii) the demand-side (iii) public management, coordination and financing and (iv) the revenue side.
In a country Pakistan, discuss the extent to which governments currently use these policy levers and the advantages and disadvantages of changing current policy to either adopt a policy lever currently not used or implement changes in the way the policy lever is currently being used.
The assignment should include the following:
1. (i) A brief context for the assignment including background information on the country and its health system.
2. (ii) The extent to which the policy levers are currently used.
3. (iii) Changes to policy levers to improve health system performance including an argument to support any proposed changes. You may also provide an argument not to change a policy lever.
